If you are in the process of adopting or have adopted this is for you!
When adoption is in the best interest of the child/ren, Adoption Support Services are available to make the adoption process go smoothly and to give adoptive families the assistance and support they need. Services include both pre- and post-adoption support, in the form of individual therapy, family therapy and support groups. KID’s Adoption Support Therapists work individually with each child, as well as in partnership with the adoptive parents to assist with the entire adoption process.
Adoption involves a significant commitment and investment that may cause stress to all individuals involved. Adoption Support Groups lend support to family members as well as provide information.
Kids In Distress is offering two support groups for all who have either adopted a child or in the process of adopting. These groups, which are open to families of both private and public adoption, provide information and lend support regarding child neglect/abuse factors, developmental issues, loss and abandonment, behavior difficulties and attachment issues.
You are not alone! Join us in working through the difficult times as well as celebrating the successes.
“Our mission is to form a supportive network of adoptive parents who can combine experiences and information to strengthen our families and our adoptions.”
